Mineral Stone Torch-On is a manufacturing process that uses polymer-modified bitumen reinforced with a composite reinforcement. This ensures a good quality membrane that has high elongation and stability across the defined temperature range. Ideal for use in warmer climates.
Mineral Stone Torch-On, is a prefabricated material made of bitumen distillate modified with elastomeric and plastomeric polymers, the product is reinforced with a dual carrier spun bound, non-woven, polyester filament, stabilized with fiberglass. The mineral stones on the material protect it from the sun and ensure that the installed product is UV protected.
This system is applied to flat roofs and subterranean areas like building foundations.
When applying the membrane:
- The applicator must first ensure that the surface is clean and dry
- The next step is to apply the primer, and only when the primer has dried, can the membrane be placed on the roof and adhered to with heat
- To ensure uniformity, chalk lines are used
- We always start from the lowest point of the roof, nearest the drainpipe
- The membrane is staggered to ensure overlaps are positioned and sealed correctly
- The last step is to waterproof the drains and all corners, to validate the manufactures warranty
This system carries a 10-year, maintenance-free warranty, subject to there being no 3rd party interference.
